Media Convergence - Media made easy?

What is Media Convergence?

It is a connection or a combination of any mode of the medium that makes any type of media available. It is some kind of new media that is modern and advances in terms of technology. This is contemporary in the digital world that any type of media is gathered into one medium. This brings the "three C's" which is: computing, communication, and content that is a transformation of a new medium.

This is a trend because of its relevance to the current technological advancements of this generation. Why do I say that it is a trend? Well, it is due to the fact that it has been around since maybe the '90s or so with computers with Microsoft '95 that is considered as a media convergence but not fully, something like that. Smartphones for example which is portable where you can communicate digitally in social media, in applications for face to face conversations, and in many ways of communicating from one person to the other. It has taken over the lives of many people and it became one of their sources of income, place of entertainment, source of knowledge and etc. This is obviously seen just by looking at my blog as a part of Media Convergence and many are part of this theory.

In the Philippines, media convergence has technological merging to Filipinos like from the Newspaper to News sites on the WorldWideWeb, from sending messages with notes and envelopes to typing a message and sending it to the other person just like any other media but it is an all-in-one media device. It is through social media mainly Facebook and youtube is used for broadcasting and live entertainment for most parts. It also modernized the way Filipinos are made aware of the new things outside the country. Social convergence is the total trend in the Philippines because creators and consumers in the digital world are way more active than the physical, yet content creators are more physically active than consumers. Political convergence is also present on the internet where it arranges and gives proper justice to content creators.

Media Convergence changes the way we access media, Why? because it gives us the freedom to do things, learn things, and make life easier for us. It makes the advancement and enhancement the society faster and portable, It has been a way of communicating for us whatever the media it is.
